ADOPT

People have described what Yorkie Rescue of America does is nothing less than miraculous. Shelters come to Yorkie Rescue of America as their last hope. The transformation these dogs undergo is extraordinary and delights all who are involved in the process, especially those fortunate enough to adopt one of our Yorkies.  Our goal is to make sure our dogs are placed in the ideal environment for their needs. If you are interested in adopting one of our Yorkies, please fill out the adoption application. Once we receive it, you will be contacted within 48 hours to assess whether you and the dog you are interested in are an ideal match.

AVAILABLE DOGS

Clarence

My name is Clarence, my foster mom says I'm a 6lb precious long-legged senior boy.

Meal time & snacks are some of my very favorite things… I get very excited. I also love being with my human & going for walks.  I’m house trained & will go to the door to let you know when I need to go out. I get along well with other dogs, there are 3-4 others in my foster home at all times. I was rescued from the shelter and have been to the vet. I am patiently waiting for a home of my own. We have run full labs on Clarence and his kidney values are stable. We have him on a kidney friendly diet to keep him that way at his age. Clarence is also on Pimobendan daily.

PENNY

Penny is a very sweet senior girl who will be 13 on June 22, 2024. She weighs 7.8 lbs. She was surrendered to a shelter by her owners because she needed medical care. She is spayed, vaccinated and has had full blood work. She also had a dental, and only has one remaining tooth, a canine. Penny would be best as an only dog and is good with older kids. Penny is potty trained in her environment. Either outside or on potty pads.

Penny just wants to be with her person and loves going with you, riding in her booster seat in the car, in her stroller or at your side in a sling.  Penny is somewhat a Mama’s girl and makes a great companion dog. She likes to cuddle in bed and hang out with you on the sofa.

Penny would love a forever home of her very own. She has arthritis in her hind legs but gets around just fine. Penny has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) and requires an enzyme powder to be added to her food in order for her body to digest its nutrients.

Dior (aka: DeeDee)

Meet Dior, affectionately known as DeeDee. If you want to feel like the most special person in the world, Dior is your gal. She spins with excitement when you come home or just walk into the room. She will keep you company while you work in the kitchen, cuddle with you while you watch TV and sleep next to you all night never making a peep. She loves playing with small toys that she can pick up, toss, retrieve and toss again. She will go wherever you go and is great in the car. She is potty trained in her current environment. She likes to go outside, but also uses potty pads. She loves other dogs.

Dior is 12 years old, 8 lbs, spayed, UTD on vaccinations, and microchipped. She had a really rough time before coming to YROA. She’s been to the dermatologist, ophthalmologist and cardiologist. We are happy to say that she’s doing great! She has a cataract in her right eye that requires an eye drop once every other day for inflammation. She is also on Pimobendan twice a day for her heart and hydrocodone for her trachea. She takes all medication like an angel. She is the sweetest girl just waiting to be your best friend. Can you open your heart and your home to give her a wonderful final chapter?
