AVAILABLE DOGS

Clarence

My name is Clarence, my foster mom says I'm a 6lb precious long-legged senior boy.

Meal time & snacks are some of my very favorite things… I get very excited. I also love being with my human & going for walks.  I’m house trained & will go to the door to let you know when I need to go out. I get along well with other dogs, there are 3-4 others in my foster home at all times. I was rescued from the shelter and have been to the vet. I am patiently waiting for a home of my own.

We have run full labs on Clarence and his kidney values are stable. We have him on a kidney friendly diet to keep him that way at his age.

Coming soon… Scotty

My name is Scotty. I’m 14 years old, 8/29/2009 is my birthday. I am 6lbs & house trained & I use pee pads, yes… that is true, I go to the door to let you know & if you don’t see me, I’ll run around the house to let you know or find a pad.  So far I get along with everyone I’ve met so far both furry & human but I’m a bit shy…

Now for my story:

My mom, who I lived with until a few days before my birthday, had to move into a memory care facility. She didn’t want to give me up but she wasn’t able to take care of me anymore. She cried when this nice rescue picked me up & the lady from the rescue cried with her.

The rescue saw my mouth & took me straight to the vet, my mouth was rotten and painful. They got me emergency surgery to repair a bunch of oronasal fistulas and remove the rest of my teeth. I feel so much better now.

I stayed with the owner of the rescue for 2 weeks after my surgery and then moved in with my foster family. I have 2 other senior rescue fur foster siblings, and foster parents. It took me a minute to get comfortable but it’s all good now.  They take me with them on 2 walks a day. I’m not as fast as they are but I’m starting to like walks & there are so many smells I get distracted.

My foster mom says I’m a spunky, funny & handsome little dude. I trot all around the house & boy do I like the back yard. I’m good at ‘checking the perimeter’ to make sure my foster family is safe…I feel like it’s my job now.

If I had to rate my favorite things they would include: food, naps & ear rubs.  I’m still a little timid and don’t like fast movement.

I have dry eye and need eye drops every day for the rest of my life, but other than that the eye doctor vet says I have excellent vision! My foster mom isn’t sure if I’m hard of hearing or selective… I respond to whistles & claps but not always to a voice. I’m 14 so I can get away with it.

Scotty is fully vetted.
